TOPIC: The Nature of Man (Part 2) – Facts About The Human Spirit (Contd)
TEXT: Gen. 1:26-27.
- The human spirit is creative: Since God created man in His image and likeness, His creative attribute is resident in the human spirit. The human spirit can and does create like God. Its creative capacity is limitless. Everything you see in the world today is a product of the creative capacity of the human spirit down through the ages. The human mind does not create, it only helps to crystallize what the spirit has created for onward implementation in the physical realm. Ideas, concepts, visions, etc are products of the human spirit that the mind helps to give expression.
How the spirit creates: The human spirit creates primarily through spiritual materials called WORDS. Words are spiritual raw materials with the force to create things. How did God create the heaven and earth? Through words. Whatever the human spirit wants to create, it first receives the words consistent with it. It then begins to process it through deep meditation until those words become tangible substance in it. That’s when we say the word has become a revelation in us. Revelation means your spirit processing words into tangible substance on the inside. It is this substance that is released through our mouth as declarations thereby leading to its physical end product. In John 15:7, Jesus said, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will and it be done unto you.” You see, He was showing us how the human spirit creates things in this world. “My words abide in you” is the raw materials the spirit needs for processing. The word “done” is from the Greek “ginomai”. It means to create, produce, and fabricate something from a raw material which in this case is “words”. If you want healing, for instance, get the word on healing into your spirit. Your spirit will process it through meditation until healing substance is created. Then as you release it from your mouth, healing take place in your body either instantly or gradually. This same principle works in other areas of life. We just aren’t disciplined enough to allow this process run its course properly when we are desperate for things.
This also works in the negative. Your spirit can also receive wrong words of sickness, death, poverty, sin, etc and process it until these evils are created in you. No wonder Jesus told us to take heed what we hear (Mark 4:24). Words are raw materials the human spirit uses to create realities in the earth, that’s how its creative capacity operates.
The Human Spirit and Direction
The human spirit doesn’t think. Thinking is in the realm of the mind. There is nowhere in the Bible that we see the human spirit thinking. The human spirit believes, knows, has absolutes. The act of thinking means rationalizing and analyzing information. But the human spirit, especially the recreated one, has inherent solutions because the light of God’s reality is there within it. What happens during meditation is that the mind connects with the spirit in order to access that inherent solution that is located in the human spirit. That solution often times is downloaded into the mind as revelation, ideas, concepts, etc which the mind in turn processes to implement in any given situation to bring about the desired solution.
Therefore, a sound mind is the mind that has been cultured to relate with the human spirit always to download inherent solutions from the spirit. That is why a sound mind doesn’t think, reason like every other mind because its source of information is the spirit where reality (truth) resides. It is therefore imperative that we train our spirit man in God’s word, fellowship with the Holy Ghost, and let that inward man dominate us. When we do this, we will always have precise solutions to any and every challenge that we encounter in our lives. This is the mystery behind the statement “…all things are possible to him that believes..” That means all things are possible to him that has learnt to function from his inward man (his spirit).
You are seeking direction in life? Your human spirit is the core factor because that is where God dwells if you are born again. The bible says the spirit of a man is the candle of the Lord (Prov. 20:27). Counsel (direction) in the heart (spirit) of a man is like deep water, the man of understanding (sound mind) draws it out (Prov. 20:5). These scriptures encapsulate what we’ve just explained. Therefore, child of God, cultivate your spirit through the word of God and fellowship with the Holy Spirit so that your spirit can become a great help in directional issues of life.
